Tsumiki Lamp – Alessi
“Tsumiki” is a Japanese board game in which the aim is to build three-dimensional shapes from simple wooden blocks. The countless combinations of shapes inspired by the game are shown to their best advantage in the lamp designed by Medum and ensure a wide range of possible uses.
The first impression is that of a typical table lamp with simple, fresh shapes. In reality, the head, stem and base are three independent elements that are connected by a sophisticated magnetic coupling technology and offer numerous possible combinations. The lamp is therefore suitable for a variety of contexts and can be customised according to the desired function both at home and at the workplace. A wireless all-rounder that fits into today’s world.
Rechargeable LED lamp consisting of three main elements connected by magnetic inserts. Aluminium base, steel stem with integrated rechargeable battery, polypropylene head, textile-covered head cable. Available in the colours black, white, red/ orange and blue.
The magnetic coupling elements allow the three lamp components to be freely orientated and arranged: for example, as a classic table lamp, or separated from the base as a lightweight and portable version, or even suspended by using the textile cable that supplies the light source as a hook loop.

ABOUT ALESSI
For over a century, Alessi has been creating extraordinary objects that make people dream, feel, think and experience poetry in their daily lives. By collaborating with the best creative minds from around the world, Alessi brings the most unexpected and contemporary expressions of design culture into people’s homes.
The Italian company was founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi and initially concentrated on metal kitchenware. His products and designs of coffee pots became so popular, that by 1924 the brand name ‘Alessi’ was well established.
By the 1950s the company broadened its approach, deciding to collaborate with well-known designers. The aim was to break away from modernism and even traditional designs and to try more unconventional design ideas, including those from groups such as Studio Alchima (Alessandro Mendini) and Memphis (Ettore Sottsass). Other designers associated with Alessi include Aldo Rossi, Philippe Starck and Michael Graves. The collaborative and creative approach they use has become the hallmark of the Alessi brand.
Alessi is now a B Corp, a company which strives to maximise the positive impact they have on their employees, the communities in which they operate and the environment, by using the business as a force for regeneration and sustainability.
