Mason Cash Ceramic Blackbird Pie Funnel
Mason Cash pie bird is an ingenious inventions to create more fully textured and well cooked pies time after time.
Instructions :
- Line a pie dish with pastry and place the pie bird in the centre
- Add filling around the pie bird then put the pastry on top, leaving a hole in the centre for the bird’s head and shoulders (depending on how high the pie is)
- Pinch the crust around the edges and around the pie bird to seal before cooking
- The pie bird allows steam to escape through its mouth during cooking and helps prevent the pastry sagging
