Joy Hand Tufted Runner – Wendy Morrison Design
With her eye-catching pale central panel, which grounds the pinks, blues, lilacs, purple, greens, olive and red that burst into life around it, Joy balances colour and pattern beautifully. Effervescent hummingbirds, a delightful symbol of joy, dart amongst bright flowers and vibrant green foliage, all etched in gold and framed by a bold, striped border.
Birds, butterflies, flowers and foliage are a direct link to Mother Nature, introducing the sense of peace and happiness found outdoors. Chrysanthemums, which represent happiness and well-being, and lotus flowers, which represent strength, resilience and rebirth, are both symbols of positivity. The flowers are in full bloom, which reinforces the joy of life and reminds us to embrace it. The angular striped frame is enclosed on one side by softly rounded clouds, which represent peace and calm, and on the other by gentle green waves, which represent time.
A positive, uplifting design that captures our love of colour.

ABOUT WENDY MORRISON DESIGN
In 2004 freelance fashion designer Wendy Morrison accepted a commission to design a rug collection. It was a turning point; the perfect match for her love of colour and pattern, combined with storytelling. It was the start of a design journey that comes from the heart, that puts passion and craftsmanship at the centre of every project, and strives to connect people, places, art, ideas and nature.
Authentic rug-making demands incredible skill, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Wendy Morrison want to protect those skills, to support the artisans who tuft and weave, and bring our designs to life, to explain the history and storytelling behind rug design, and to celebrate and help maintain this centuries-old art.
Since 2012, Wendy Morrison have worked with the same Indian manufacturer and artisans who share their desire to create rugs of outstanding quality. Wendy Morrison take responsibility for ethical trading seriously and are a proud partner of GoodWeave, a not-for-profit organisation that ensures fair working conditions.
