Fat Adam’s Almond Old Fashioned with Bourbon and Amaretto
Wait, what? An Old Fashioned with Almond? My Almond Old Fashioned came into being, completely by mistake. My cocktail of the day was my Rye Classic Old Fashioned, a blend of Bourbon and Rye with all the usual trimmings. Whilst getting distracted when serving, I’d left a measure of amaretto in the measuring cup and thinking it was the rye part, added it to an old Fashioned I was making for myself. I realised my error when I smelt it and nearly started again, when I thought, why not give it a go? Remember the Salted Caramel Negroni? A mix of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Wild Turkey 101 Rye and Disaronno Amaretto, this is an Old Fashioned with a difference.
